oh no. something's changed.

F*cking Fabulous was our favorite flavour on our first try, and one which we quickly shared with our most deserving loved ones. on our second try, though, we discovered there had been a change to the recipe. our "old" version was an intriguingly smokey outer dusting of fine black salt that paved the way to a milk chocolatey, creamy dulce dream that took a good while before melting away to a lightly sweet and salty, chewy licorice core...complex, surrpising and so good. on our second try, though, it suddenly had a thick, coarse, sharp, dry, soulless, lifeless, harshly oversalted, too roughly textured crust (think emery board nail filer) that was just a too long, too rough intro that left the tongue, roof of the mouth and palate too dried, scraped and exhausted to enjoy the eventual layers that would have provided the soothing counterbalance and pleasurable reward for the rude journey there. I do not know if this last batch was an miscalculation, a salty spill, an unhappy new, much coarser black salt source, or if this wonderful flavor is permanently changed, perhaps now meant as a jumping board into the brand's harsher, saltier offerings... for us, and for our gift recipients, this flavor was just perfect as it was. : ( we will wait until Salted Caramel is restocked to reorder, and hope we might see some additional, adventurous yet non-lethal flavors here that the brand is sharing with its global customers. Pilska and Shut the Fudge Up seem like they would be wonderful flavors to try, as would anything with coffee, spice, or creamy, buttery flavours. we will be adventurous and try the hard little Smalaninngar pillow candies next, when the Salted Caramel returns as a single and a Bundle with Chilla Gunilla and Ultra Violet. <3

hit or miss?

this flavor was our favorite on our first try, and one which we quickly shared with our most deserving loved ones. on our second try, though, we discovered there had been a change to the recipe. F*cking Fabulous was exactly that - -an intriguingly smokey, subtly salty greeting, before melting away into a milky, creamy dulce chocolate dream that took a moment before giving way to a lightly sweet and salty, chewy licorice core... on our second try, though, it suddenly seemed like a dry, soulless, lifeless, harshly oversalted, roughly textured ball (think emery board nail filer) that was just a jarring and crass intro that left the tongue, roof of the mouth and palate too dried, scraped and exhausted to enjoy the eventual layers that would have provided the soothing counterbalance and pleasurable reward for the rude journey there. I do not know if this last batch was an miscalculation, a salty spill, an unhappy new salt source (or vendor), or if this wonderful flavor is permanently changed, perhaps now meant as a jumping board into the brand's harsher, saltier offerings... but for us, and for our gift recipients, this flavor is no longer a go-to. we will wait until Salted Caramel is restocked to reorder, and hope we might see some additional, adventurous yet non-lethal flavors here that the brand is sharing with its global customers. Pilska and Shut the Fudge Up seem like they might be wonderful flavors to try, as would anything with coffee, spice, or creamy, buttery flavors.. we would order these directly from the home site, as well as a couple of Advent Calendars for gifting, if it were at all feasible.. will try the hatd little Smalaninngar pillow candies next, when the Salted Caramel returns as a single and a Bundle! <3

Have not received!!

I received a package containing one of two items ordered, and sent an email regarding immediately, and a follow up several days later, and have had no reply. The licorice was tasty, but im not very happy with your customer service. Also, it was in my rural mailbox , which got very hot; tbere was a tiny ice pack, which was 101°F. I’m sure this is difficult to avoid, but it could be dealt with in other ways, for example, held at PO for pick up, or the like. I had no idea how it would arrive, or how it would be packaged. Luckily it’s was ok for the hard candies. I would certainly like a response from the company, and either a refund, or delivery of what I ordered!

Shop Owner

Hi there! I am NOT a lover of annis/black licorice, however, own a Scandinavian shop and will certainly consider stocking these items for those who DO love it.
Although I can't eat them, samples given away have had good feedback. I think the packaging and marketing is great, and the candy itself is visually appealing.
