Nice Mint

The licorice in this also disappointed. Not salty and the tastes were not there for mint or chocolate. Swedish Bastards were my top choice of the three flavors I tried. I did get these and the Naughty Ginger at a discounted price so maybe freshness is an issue. I have no clue.

Nice Mint is a good name for these little milk chocolate balls that remind me, subtly, of the sweet minty taste of peppermint patties, with a gently bitter, soft liquorice core. But the real magic is in the fine, sweetly minty crust that covers them. I have no idea how the folks at Haupt achieved such a thin crust.--perhaps tiny, magical elves whispered thoughts of Christmas and memories of snowfights and snowmen near their drying racks? ..or perhaps a chilly, magical mist came in through the window and fell gently on the minty chocolate balls as they were resting? However it got there, it gives these little balls an interesting, fine crunch that is a new and unexpected texture, at least for Haupt's American customers (hey, Haupt Santa, what else have you got in that bag?) ;) Merry Christmas!

This is really high quality licorice that’s hard to find anywhere else. It’s expensive but so worth it.
