This is the weirdest worst best candy that has ever existed. Equal parts dangerous root and literal poison powder, it tastes like if salt hated you. Once you power through to the licorice and salmiak crème, the flavors combine to an unforgettable and flavorful experience. But don’t hesitate or all you will taste is salty hate. Bite through, chew true. And don’t let it hit your throat till you’ve covered the powder in saliva, otherwise you’re inviting a coughing fit. This is the most intense candy I’ve ever had. I love them.
They are great but inconsistent, the first order I got was the best. They had more Salmiak coating, and it was much finer powder, and the licorice itself was soft but not wet. The recent order I got seems to be much more moist (almost wet), with a much larger granules (this makes it so there is not nearly as much salmiak in the licorice, so not sure it is still “the worlds saltiest licorice.” I hope they hold up well as I have noticed some licorice begins to melt as it ages if moist. I also hope they take this constructive criticism and improve the recipe to how it was a few months ago.
Hands down the best salty licorice I have ever tried, I have been searching for something this salty and flavor filled since I tried my first salty licorice in when i was just 2 years old.
Just amazing. I'm very happy I can get these without having to travel to Sweden!
