I popped this in my mouth and kept my mouth shut. That way I would not smell the salt. I let the salt dissolve and then savored the licorice. It was the best licorice of the three varieties I had.

Yes, there is a little shock as the salt hits the mouth but it does not last long.

I do like bitter ale so maybe that helps. Overall, I thought it was delightful and I liked the salt on this more than Naughty Ginger or Nice Mint.

I was excited to try these as I love sweet salty candy. However, I took one bite and got sick to my stomach. It tasted like bleach and salt so unfortunately threw the whole container away

Let’s get this out of the way: these are, in fact, the world’s saltiest candy. They aren’t lying. So if you order them and then give a bad review because “the world’s saltiest candy” is TOO SALTY, please show yourself out.
Now for the rest of us: I *LOVE* salmiakki. I adore salted licorice and my friends bring it to me from all over the world. This? This stands alone as the most intense, most insane, most incredible salmiakki I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I crave it at least once a week and need to order more because I’m worried I will run out. If this is your thing, you will love it. If it’s not your thing, that’s fine—you might enjoy the chocolate licorice that is equally delicious but much more gentle! Just don’t get mad that it does what it says on the tin.
